About the Hosts
NGI Search – Next Generation Internet Discovery and Search
NGI Search is a three year long cascade funding project designed to help beneficiaries, such as start-ups, scale-ups, SMEs, and mid-sized companies to adopt and develop digital innovation in the domain of searching and discovering data and generally resources on the internet.
With five European partners contributing in the project, NGI Search provided five Open Calls and distributed up to 150,000 € to 50 open search projects, with the support of a dedicated team, an Advisory Board and 10 added-value services.
The project ended in 2025.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme and is framed under Next Generation Internet Initiative.
Open Search Foundation
The OSF – Open Search Foundation e.V. – is a non-profit, European initiative based in Starnberg near Munich. Since 2018, it has been campaigning for independent, free and self-determined access to information on the internet and informing the public about all aspects of internet search. Its goal is an Open Web Index that takes ethics and European values into account from the outset. In the Horizon Europe project OpenWebSearch.EU, OSF is driving the topic forward with 13 other partners.
