Seek and ye shall find. What Google wants. – Why we need transparent and free search engines

Online Webinar – provided by creative agency elfgenpick

Those who search via commercial search engines search blindly. Nobody knows what criteria are used to display something. The Open Search Foundation wants to lay the foundations for independent, free and self-determined access to information on the Internet. In cooperation with research institutions, data centers and other partners, it is committed to a web search that benefits everyone. The project, funded by the EU with 8.5 million euros, is developing an open web index as a free, public good and as the basis for a variety of online (search) services.

The online event is part of the “gemeinsinn” series of events organized by the creative agency elfgenpick. The agency has been reporting according to the principles of the Economy for the Common Good since 2019. The event is part of the sustainability weeks of the Augsburg economic region and part of the Free Web Search Days. The webinar will be provided in English language.
